Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services, announced that they have included 14 more drugs, 4 of which are used in cancer treatment, on the reimbursement list, with the arrangement made in the Health Implementation Communiqué (SUT), and 9 of these drugs are domestic products.
The new regulation on SUT, which took place after being published in the Official Gazette on 30 December 2020, has been published on the official website of the Social Security Institution.
She stated that 8 thousand 920 drugs are in the reimbursement list that, of which 375 is supplied from abroad, 8 thousand 545 of them were licensed in Turkey.
Stating that only 8 of the added 14 new drugs currently have equivalent, Minister Selçuk said that with the addition of these drugs to the reimbursement list, new alternatives and accessibility have emerged for the treatments they have been used.
Minister Selçuk stated that "Repair of Spina Bifida with Fetal Surgery" was included in the scope of reimbursement by SSI in order to intervene in the womb of babies diagnosed with spina bifida, which occurs in babies in the womb in the first month of pregnancy and is known as "Split Spine" disease among the folks.
Among the drugs included in the reimbursement list, 4 of them are cancer drugs, 2 of them are drugs used in the treatment of urothelial cancer from abroad, and 2 of them are innovative targeted therapeutic drugs used in the last stage of lung cancer.
